We took a trip over to Sacramento for some food shopping in the Suby. This was a first for Kara to ride in the Suby all the way to Sacramento.
She was fine with the straight roads, but once Marek hit the windy road around placerville..driving way too fast, she let it be known that she didn't like it.
There we were, stopped on the side of the road, scrapping slimy vomit out of a car seat, gagging uncontrollably while speeding cars raced by, I discovered that I was truly a mother. For only a mother is strong enough to do such tasks. For only a mother is willing to do such tasks. For only a mother would be in the situation to have to deal with such tasks.
We spent an hour there, parked in the sun, all car doors open, my poor self scrapping partially digested food from the nooks and crannies of the car seat. I am sure it was a sight to see. A crazy women diving in and out of a car, holding her breath, while a green faced man and a half naked toddler wondered the side. You see, my husband couldn't help in the clean up process. For some reason, vomit makes him loose his lunch. Weakling.
Luckily I always bring extra clothings for Kara, but unluckily we didn't have a spare car seat cover. Even after all the wipings, there was still a lingering smell of vomit in the air. The windows were all the way down on the rest of the ride to Sacramento.
We finished the shopping and headed home. This time Marek made sure (I made him made sure) to drive a little slower along the windy roads and we didn't feed Kara right before the road trip, but hours before. The trip home was way better.
