First day of school, 2011

Getting ready for the first day of school.
Kara going to First grade at Hunsberger. Peter going to Pre-K at The Child Garden,
Had to pack a lunch for Kara since she didn't want to eat the hot lunch at school.
She helped picked what she wanted: grapes, pretzel, a yogurt stick, Milk, and Spagetti. We'll she how much she actually eats:>)
For Peter, I opted to get him the hot lunch to see if he will the center's food. I just packed his milk in his Buzz Lightyear thermos. Hope all goes well for the both of them.

Peter's 4th birthday party

We celebrated Peter's 4th by having our annual barbecue. We invited Gary, Anne and Alden, Kirk, Gretchen, Madelein, and Henry, Nadeem, Value, Faisal, and Yasmeen, Tony, Jen, Jayde, Lx, and Ian, Viet, Thi, Ngoc Han, and Tuan, Son, Bac Sinh.
I made the Chicken and Spareribs, and Beef Pho. Mom made the Fried Rice, Chowmein, and egg rolls. Mom was a great help..couldn't of made it without her. Also, but not least the cake. I was able to find a cement truck with some little signs to put on the birthday cake..perfect for Peter :>)

It was hot enough outside for the kids to play with water, while the adults enjoy inside with the air condition..ha ha.

The homemade cake.

Madelein, Nathan and Peter.

Fun with the water. Yn, Peter and Madelein.

Tony overseeing I believe Yn.

I even got to enjoy some cake..

Peter loved Uncle Danny's present for him...Legos with firetrucks..great get.

Fun time at Lake Tahoe

I decided to take a half off and hang around with the family at Lake Tahoe. Marek tooks us to a small beach near Sand Harbor. The water was cool and great for the hot day. Kara talked Marek into bringing her friend from school, Sarohla.
As usual Lake Tahoe was breathtaking. A good trip before the start of the school year.

Dad and the kids looking for tiny fishes and small crawdaddy.

My ever posing model :>)

Peter's 4year checkup

Peter went to get his 4 year checkup.
His statistic: 34 lbs (35%), 40 1/4 inches(50%) very average.
Compare with Kara's 4th year checkup: 31 lb, and 39 1/4.

We're hoping by next year he will be 42 or over so he ride some the carnival and park rides. We'll see how much he will grow.
Poor kid got three shots, but leave it up to the trooper to bounce right back. He did have a little pain the next day, but some tylenol helped that all up.

Before the shots were giving.

Shots giving. Got to give it to the nurse..she did it real quick.

After the shots..poor baby.

Joy of siblings

"Stop looking at me!" screeched Kara.
"I'm not!" barked Peter in quick reply.
"I can SEE you looking at me" screeched Kara.
"I'm not looking !" piped Peter, who smartly had his eyes squeezed shut.
"Mom, he won't stop looking at me!" screeched Kara.

Me: "He's not looking at you Kara. Peter are you looking at her or at the toy behind her?"
"Toy" yells Peter. Smart boy.
"He can't have my toy!!" cried Kara

Don't you just love sibling rivalry. There's no logic, and there's never any justice, someone is always in the wrong.

That's how our breakfast have been going lately :>))

The little loves

The most loved one:

To my #1: Kara:

I love you the most. You introduced me to the world of motherhood and made us a family. I love how genuinely kind and sweet you can be sometimes. I love how you consider any alone time with me now a special date, even if we just go to the market. I love how nurturing and compassionate you are to animals and people, alike. I love watching you draw and the pride you take in your art. I love how you hug like you’re never going to let go. I love how thoughtful you are, sometimes. I love your tan lines. I love hearing from teachers how wonderful you are, even though I already know. I love talking to you on the phone. I love reading to you hearing you read to your brother. You are my absolute favorite.

To my favorite child, Peter:

I love you the most. You were the sweetest baby in the world. I love your exuberance and enthusiasm. I love how easy to please you can be. I love the smell of your neck. I love holding your hand and the face you make when you spot me at school. I love the way your voice gets really high when you’re excited and that you actually squeal with delight. I love how much you worship your sister and the way you watch her when she’s not looking. You will always be my baby, even though you insist that you are a big boy. I love your husky voice and the way your repeat everything you hear even though half the time, you have no idea what you’re saying. I love the humming sound you make when you really like what you’re eating. I love watching you play and how you can make a game of pretty much anything. I love how much you love making people laugh. I love the way you say my name. I love your pudgy thighs and your knees and the way you look in your pajamas. I love the way you hold my face with two hands when you give me a kiss. You round out our family, completely. You are my absolute favorite.
